Born in Cuba, September 1979. Started dancing at the age of eleven three years later accepted into the National Dance School of Cuba. Here he studied Cuban Modern Technique, Afro Cuban Folklore, Ballet and Choreographic composition. Graduated in Havana six years later in 1997 was offered a place with Rosario Cardenas, renowned dance company "Danza Combinatoria". Nelson was a member of the Company for nearly four years during which time he performed and toured throughout Spain, Cuba and Jamaica. During his four years with the company he was trained by renowned figures, Rosario Cardenas, Release Technique and from Cuban National Ballet ‚Albaro Carreno, and Tamara Villa Real in Classical. In July 2000 Nelson immigrated to Australia and formed Havana Beat with Romi Dupont Louis and Dianne Dupont. With Havana Beat he toured around New South Wales performing and teaching Contemporary and Cuban traditional dance. Also worked with Australian companies Bondi Ballet, Chunky Move - Creative Development, Dance Track #2, Theatre of Image in "Robinson Crusoe", Choreographer Jason Pitt in "Scars",Meryl Tankard in Disney Tarzan Workshop and Australian Ballet "Wild Swans", Sue Healey Company "Fine Line Terrain", and Fine Line Terrain Film (Best dance film Australian Dance Awards 2003 and Real Dance 2004 for best film) Sziget Festival 2004 with Caminando a solo work choreographed by Nelson with mentor Sue Healey, sponsored by the Australian Council for the Arts. Since 2005 member of Pal Frenak Company performing in "Credo Hysterica ", "Les Hommes Caches ", "Frisson", "Instint","InTimE", "Scape" , "Kaozs" and the new creation "Seven" as dancer and assistant choreographer.
